Context

The "Command" feature in RG System has been redesigned to offer a more flexible experience in managing commands executed on your machines. Initially limited to executing a single command at a time, without the ability to track results simultaneously or maintain a history, the new version introduces simultaneous execution of multiple commands, management of a complete history, and real-time monitoring of command logs.

These improvements are aimed at optimizing your operational efficiency while providing more precise control over the tasks you execute remotely.

Access

To access the "Command" feature:

  2. In the left menu, navigate to the "Actions" section.
  3. Click on "System" to open the system action management interface of the remote machine.

Actions

The redesign of the "Command" feature allows you to perform several key actions:

Creating and Executing Commands:

    • Enter the command to execute in the designated field.
    • Click on "Execute" to start executing the command on the selected agent.
    • Monitor the return logs and execution time in real-time.

Managing History:

    • The history of all executed commands is automatically recorded.
    • It can be accessed at any time. You can scroll through to search past command executions.
    • You can re-execute any command from the history by clicking the "relaunch" button.

Simultaneous Execution:

    • It is now possible to execute multiple commands in parallel.
    • Each command runs independently, and results are accessible individually without interference.

Customizable Timeout:

    • Before launching a command, you can set a custom timeout to adjust the maximum execution time.
    • This allows you to optimize processing time according to the specific needs of your task.

Pause and Resume:

    • During the execution of a command, you can choose to pause the execution.
    • When you are ready, you can resume the command from where it left off.

These new features provide greater flexibility and better management of remote tasks, enhancing your control over operations performed through our RMM tool.
