Context
Until now, user management in RG System was based on 5 standard rights groups:
- Account Manager
- Technical Manager
- Technical Operator
- Client
- Read-only
These roles covered most needs, but some organizations required more granularity and flexibility to manage access.
This is now possible thanks to the new Custom Groups feature. You can create your own rights groups by freely selecting from more than 80 permissions available on the platform.
Access
Group management is located in the Management menu of your RG System dashboard.
Select the root node of your tree structure.
- In the left-hand menu, navigate to the "Management" section.
- Click on "User" to open the list of your users.
- Select the "Rights Group" tab to open the list of available groups.
From this area, you can:
View the complete list of rights groups (the 5 default groups + your custom groups).
Instantly see the group description, the number of included permissions, and the number of associated users.
Create, edit, or delete a custom group at any time.
Create a new custom rights group
To create a new group:
Click on “Create group” in the dedicated section.
Provide a clear name and description for your group to easily identify it.
Select the desired permissions from the list of 90+ available options.
Validate: your group is immediately available in the list.
Example: you can create a group “Level 1 Support” that only provides access to monitoring and ticket tracking functions, without advanced administration rights.
⚠️ Warning: modifying a group will immediately apply the changes to all users linked to that group.
Invite a user with a new rights group
When inviting a new user, you can now directly assign them a custom group in addition to the standard groups. For an existing user, simply update their profile and replace their current group with a custom one.
Result: you save time, improve clarity, and strengthen security, while adapting RG System to your organization.
