General Information

The registry editor is now available and directly integrated into the RG Système dashboard. This feature allows you to browse the registry of Windows machines in your IT infrastructure without requiring remote control. Once in the registry of the selected machine, you can manage registry keys and values.

Accessing the Feature

Start by selecting the Windows machine in which you wish to browse the registry.

In the main menu, click on Action > System > Tabs : Registry

Using the Integrated Registry Editor

1/ Navigating Registry Keys

The registry editor allows you to navigate directly via the machine's registry keys. With a simple click, you can display the keys and values and navigate deeper into the registry's structure.

If you know the full path to access the specific key or value, you can also directly edit the "breadcrumb" and paste your access path.

 

2/ Creating a New Key/Value

It is possible to create a key or value in the registry of the selected machine.

  • Browse the registry to be in the context of the desired key, then click on the "New Value" or "New Key" button.
  • A form will allow you to fill in the fields to create a key or value.

Value :

The form to create a value includes the following fields :

  • Value Type
  • Value Name
  • Data

 

Key :

The form to create a key includes the following field :

  • Key Name

 

3/ Modifying a Key/Value

Click on the "Edit" button to modify the name and data of the key or value.

Note : The data is available and modifiable only for registry values.

 

4/ Deleting a Key/Value

It is possible to delete a key or value from the registry.
Click on the "Delete" button to remove the associated key or value.

A confirmation popup will appear to prevent accidental deletion of a registry item.

Once the confirmation request is validated, the key or value will be deleted from the registry.
