Prerequisite

  • Machines must be in an Active Directory domain.
  • The actual user of the dashboard must be at least a Technical intervener.

Process

  • Create a new sub node and call it "Deployment".

  • Create a user on that node and assign the user the rights of Technical intervener.

In the good practice, we need to create a user dedicated to the deployment which can be for example an alias of your email address (so that you can receive the invitation). This dummy user must have the right technical intervener.

  • On your Windows server, create a shared folder (named “Deploy” in our example) and then place the installation MSI file there.

  • In the shared folder options set “Total control” to “Everybody”

  • Now go to the security tab. Assign the rights “read and write” / “Display the contents of the folder” / “reading” for the groups “authenticated users” and “Domain Users”
